Spa and gym on the same day
Combining the gym and the spa in one visit is convenient and works well — but only in one order. The other way round takes away from the session rather than adding to it.
Train first, sauna after
A sauna before strength work lowers neuromuscular tone and increases fluid loss. You go into the session looser and more dehydrated than you should be. The result is a weaker session and a higher risk of a strain.
Afterwards the effect reverses: the heat supports blood flow to the muscles you have just worked, and helps them let go. Leave 10 to 15 minutes between the floor and the sauna so the pulse settles.
How long in the sauna after training
Shorter than usual. One or two rounds of eight to ten minutes is enough — the body has already lost fluid during the session, and heat adds to that cost.
Drink water between rounds, not only at the end. Light-headedness is a sign of dehydration, not of stamina.
When not to combine them
- After a very heavy session to failure — heat slows recovery in the first few hours.
- If the session was in a hot room and you are already overheated.
- With high blood pressure or a heart condition, without medical advice.
What it costs
A combined day pass for spa and gym is €20, against €15 for the thermal zone alone. If you combine them regularly, the monthly combined card is €103 on weekdays or €123 for every day.
One thing to know with a Multisport card: it covers the spa zone on weekdays but not the gym floor. A combined visit needs a gym or day pass.
Order: train → 10–15 minutes' pause → sauna, one or two short rounds.
Day spa and gym pass — €20.
Spa and gym in one place
At Ability SPA & Wellness the gym and the thermal zone are on the same level, inside the Cherno More hotel. Open daily 07:00 to 22:00.
