Workout before or after work?
The most common reason we do not train is not laziness but the schedule. If you work in central Varna, the gym at the Cherno More Hotel opens at 07:00 and closes at 22:00 — so the question is not whether, but when.
Morning, before work
Pros: the workout is done before the day has drained you; the gym is quieter; many people feel more focused all day.
Cons: the body is stiffer — you need a longer warm-up; after a short night, strength is lower.
Evening, after work
Pros: the muscles are warm, and strength and stamina tend to peak in the afternoon and evening; the workout clears the stress of the day.
Cons: it is easy to skip if the day runs late; a very intense session late in the evening can make it harder to sleep.
The answer
The best time is the one you can stick to. Pick two or three fixed days and a time, and treat them like a meeting.
45 minutes, three ways
- Cardio and strength: a 10-minute warm-up on the treadmill, 25 minutes of full-body machines, 10 minutes of stretching.
- Group class: an hour of Zumba, Functional Body or Pilates — without having to plan anything.
- Workout and sauna: 30 minutes in the gym, a 10-minute break with water, two short sauna rounds. Ideal after work.
Lunch break
If you work nearby, 45 minutes at lunchtime is enough for a short session and a shower. Mornings and lunchtimes are also the quietest times in the gym.
